Providing Birth Support and Beyond
Serened Birthing provides compassionate and evidence-based birth support and beyond to Houston families to help empower their birth journey. Thank you for considering us for your Doula needs. I’m super excited to potentially support you.
Full-Spectrum Doula serving the Greater Houston area and outskirts.
A Doula? What is that?
The word Doula (pronounced doo-lah) comes from the Greek word doule, which means “a woman who serves”.
A birth Doula provides informational, emotional, physical, and advocacy support to individuals throughout pregnancy, labor, and birth.
Birth Doulas are non-medical but are professionally trained to best support you during pregnancy.
Birth Doulas are NOT midwives or physicians and do not replace their care or deliver babies.
As a full-spectrum Doula, I support folks through menstruation, fertility, pregnancy, surrogacy, miscarriage, labor, abortion, stillbirth, lactation, and postpartum care.

About
Serened Birthing
Hey friend, I’m Serena! I’m a Houstonian, dog mom, organizer, reproductive justice advocate, social justice advocate, and trained Full-Spectrum Doula. I got into birth work and started Serened Birthing after learning about my home county—Harris County and the maternal mortality rates for Black women and birthing people.
To some folks, pregnancy and giving birth is one of the most sacred experiences in one’s life. And to know that there are pregnant people whose preferences and requests are being disregarded and outright denied in healthcare settings– is absolutely heartbreaking to me. I decided to open up Serened Birthing for this very reason. I am advocating for my clients to have the birth experience that they desire and to improve local birth outcomes.
I am so excited to potentially serve you! Here at Serened Birthing, we recognize that pregnancy and pregnant people aren’t a monolith and we welcome and advocate for everyone! We advocate for Mothers, pregnant minors, queer parents, disabled parents, etc. Thank you so much for considering Serened Birthing!
